Following the discussions in the Stables Block, everyone then moved on to look at the Hoffmann Kiln and Chimney, where Helen learnt about the processes used to produce quicklime in the kiln.  After a short walk to the Tally House and the tunnels under the A483 to see the tramlines from the quarries, Helen then returned to the Stables Block before moving on to see the Wharf Visitor Centre

At the Wharf Visitor Centre, Helen saw the George Watson Buck, which is used give visitors a boat ride along the Montgomery canal.  Sadly the boat was unable to leave its mooring due to the low water levels in the canal.

Helen then moved to the Exhibition housed at the rear of the Wharf Visitor Centre to finish off her visit.
