Making the Limeworks a Safer Place for our Visitors

If you have been walking in the Limeworks recently, some of you may have noticed that we no longer have a boardwalk at Black Bridge.

The boardwalk at Black Bridge was built by the volunteers at the Limeworks and has been in place for a number of years now.  As the top boards have become unsafe, they have been replaced, but slowly the underlying framework has become too rotten to repair.  Shropshire council took the decision to replace the boardwalk with a gravel pathway and local contractor Clive Humphreys won the contract to carry out the works.

The area that floods during the autumn and winter storms has now been filled in and a channel dug to divert any overflow from the stream.
