We are once again appealing for help with publicising the Tanat to Perry Community Wildlife Group’s Curlew and Lapwing project. We’re about to begin the third year of our study and are keen not only to recruit more volunteer surveyors but also to raise awareness of the decline of these once familiar species.
Last year’s fieldwork located slightly more breeding pairs of both Lapwing and Curlew than in 2018, as we are getting better at finding them! This year we will repeat the survey, aiming to find any pairs that we missed and to learn more about their breeding success and preferred habitats.
I would be delighted if you could once again share news of the project with the Llimeys and anyone else in your network who might be interested, and have attached a leaflet. Our next meeting is at 7.30pm on Wednesday 4th March at Morda Social Club: everyone is welcome, and there is no obligation to sign up for the survey!
Many thanks in anticipation of your help. I look forward to hearing from you.
